Stories For Carbon Neutrality – by relating directly to people, we can encourage change

How do you get everyone to get on board for making changes in their lives to become closer to climate neutral? More education? Fees? Free electric cars all around? That last one would be nice but there’s a cheaper solution: Stories.

Per Grankvist specializes in civil engagement and technology and he believes that in order to get people onboard for making big changes, we need to make it relevant to their lives and we do this by telling them stories. Not just any stories but stories that relate to their lives and circumstances.

In short, the idea is to make climate change (and fighting it) a personal one that reflects the values of the people who are making the changes and shows them a future that they would be happy with, not just with a generic idea. An interesting concept, after all, humans are hardwired for stories.
