Almond – the open source virtual personal assistant

Ever just feel like you need a personal assistant to handle all the stuff that the internet throws at you on a daily basis? Well if your notifications got you down, your life is a mess that needs a hand, then Almond is here for you, the open virtual assistant that you control.

This little open source program works with your digital life to keep it under control. You set up the commands that you need in a way that makes sense for your life. You can teach it in a variety of simple ways to perform multiple, online functions. It works with programs like Slack and Gmail for productivity but also Nest and social media accounts.

Almond works with a variety of devices and is a sort of alternative to Siri and Alexa. It is open source and constantly learning. What you can do with it, is really up to your imagination and needs.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
