Mr. Trash Wheel – the whimsical water way cleaning machine

We humans do love our personification of machines so lets meet our new fave. Mr. Trash Wheel is the little boat who is keeping Baltimore harbors clean by floating around and picking up trash. Doesn’t sound like much but he’s become a social media star.

The trash wheel boat literally just travels the harbor, picking up trash. That’s it! Also it has very large eyes making it cute and personal while it “eats” debris. In fact, he kind of looks like a shrimp. This is a bonus on top of the fact that it is picking up massive amounts of trash from the water. Nearly 15k tons of the stuff.

You can follow his adventures on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. He’s even got a live feed going so you can explore the harbor with him as he works. And see what he’s picking up I guess. Fair warning though, it’s gross. Who says garbage pick up can’t be whimsical? Not, Mr. Trash Wheel.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
