We Don’t Make Enough Food – but with some changes in agriculture it will be no problem

When it comes to sustainable agriculture, we need to make some changes to keep everyone fed. We currently don’t make enough food for everyone but with some shuffling around, we can exceed what we need without destroying the Earth.

Agriculture in many areas needs an overhaul in practices. It causes to many emissions and dumps too many toxins into the ground to be sustainable. But it can be improved primarily by working with the environment and not against it.

By looking at four key limits, not overusing nitrogen, not over using fresh water, not cutting down too many trees, and keeping up with biodiversity. By making changes that keep all of these factors inside of reasonable limits, then we can produce enough food in a sustainable way. This may call for rewilding farmland in some areas while expanding in others, for example, to meet those limits. A sustainable future is a balanced future.
