Hey, you probably aren’t cleaning your carpets and rugs enough. And if your home or the room they’re in in damp then they’re probably growing mold. Which is a real bummer. And not great to breathe in. A new study has revealed that we’ve gotta stay on top of cleaning our rugs because mold and fungi set in fast.

This is a problem primarily for bathroom rugs. They stay wet for far longer than you actually think. You probably don’t notice because you’re not hanging out on them for much longer than a few minutes after a bath or shower. But think about how long your carpet stays wet when you have accidental spill. Same deal with the bathmat. And in that time, mold is forming. Gross.

To discourage the growth of mold and fungi, clean your carpets and rugs. Dust does not help. Vacuum often and make sure they’re thoroughly dry after steam cleaning. Discouraging the growth of mold will improve your indoor air quality.
