Cellphonelenses

Add-On Cell Phone Lenses. Now here’s the thing. After-market add-on lenses for PDAs, cell phones and the like are definitely a cool idea. No doubt. But why oh why, in the name of all that’s David Bailey have the guys decided to split the product packs up into two sets – one with macro and two other useless types, and the other pack with tele and two other useless versions? Everyone knows that tele and macro belong together, don’t they? Especially at $15.00 a pack. Tsk.

Select the colour coded effect lens from the case. It can be mounted directly to the mobile phone camera with the sticky pads. For picture posting, observe the image from the LCD display and orientate the lens to the desired effects. Replace the lens into the case after use, pay attention not to leave fingerprints on the lens. Slight dirt on the lens would not affect the picture quality. However, stubborn contamination should be carefully removed by soft and clean cotton cloth.

  • Hummm,

Look at their gallery pics of the tele lens – they really suck. It introduces loads of distortion and vignetting.

Now, if phone manufacturers spent some effort putting better lenses on their phones instead of the pointless act of upping the pixel numbers, maybe people would use their cameraphones more……. I mean, why put a 2 mega pixel resolution sensor in a phone with a lens on that’s got an equivalent resolution of less than 1 meg?

If all were well on the mobile phone front, we’d all be using flickr in combination with shozu and be happy, happy people……

  • I agree totally Rob. Better lenses make better people. :-) All I want is a nice macro lens actually, so I live in hope.

  • *pats his Nokia N90 with quality Carl Zeiss lens*
now this phone is one that can definately be classed as a ‘camera’ phome :D

  • what lenses would be good for my motorola renegade v950. love the phone/cam but would like some prime choice or zoom-ability.
