The IRIS people are promising us a brave new world of video enabled mobile applications any time now. Driven by the demand for security applications (using products like their motion sensing, pan and tilt camera, above) and entertainment, they are out to deliver their video technology to as many carriers as they can. But so, we suspect, are quite a few other players. Let the games begin!
Iris cameras can also detect when an intruder has entered your home through their sensors. When an alarm is triggered on your camera the Iris Control Centre sends you an text message alert. You can then look at a recording of the event that set the camera off or see what’s happening now. And don’t worry if your phone is switched off when the alert is sent to you. Video of the event is stored at the Iris Control Centre for up to 30 days so you can look at it when it’s most convenient for you.
