All you need is for both parties on the call to be registered and regular users of the Gizmo service. That’s it, no cash required. It’s either a suicide play or a desperate and genius reaction to the growing dominance of Skype services and peripheral products.
The Gizmo Project All Calls Free plan allows you to make free phone calls to other active Gizmo Project users in 60 countries around the world. To be eligible for All Calls Free, both callers need to be registered, active Gizmo Project users. Additionally, the person initiating the call from Gizmo Project must be calling a number listed in their Contacts tab and must be calling a number in one of the countries supported by the All Calls Free plan.
Didnt work out of the box. The FAQs had me switching off firewalls (OK, I do that for a bit) and then port-forwarding (I dont think so). Skype has worked out of the box in the last 9 installations.
