Real7ime Converter. Tiny bit of freeware which claims to convert any RealPlayer stream to AVI/WAV/MP3 on demand in real time. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but if it works as advertised it could be quite a nice utility to keep in the tool chest.
I haven’t tried it either, but I can’t say I’m impressed. A quick google found a list of common problems with R7C here, with a pointer to a list of better alternatives here. This alternatives are, however, not free, but shareware.
Since I haven’t tried either R7C or the alternatives, take this with a grain of salt.
Personally I’ve been using SUPER and it works for me. It supports conversion to and from a lot of different formats. I haven’t tried it with Real media, but I don’t think there’s any reason why it shouldn’t work.
Cool feedback Zecc, thanks very much. :-) I think the problem is finding free products which do this. But I’ll certainly check out the links to see if there are any other neat products around.
I have been having lots of trouble trying to convert real for my ipod because if you do it the sound always ends up off f the time of the video about half way through the clip, video, etc. Im excited to give this a try!
Let us know how it goes John! :)
I`m quite happy with Super too, although I haven`t tired it with Realvideo yet…. been using it to convert .flv`s to divx or mpeg that I download from youtube or wherever with DownThemAll (a great FF extension).
