Magic Golf Ball. UV sensitive ball which changes colour in sunlight. But, and here’s clever, in the shade it reverts to white, making it easy to spot in the woods, trees, deep rough and underwater. $39.85 a dozen. Bargin’.
The secret of the ball changing colors is the photochromic compound painted on the surface of the ball which changes colors when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Photochromic Compound is an organic compound product that changes its color under ultraviolet light and changes back in color in a room with no sun exposure. Because of the surface treatment that is done on the distanceball, it flies very well.
Makes me wonder, wouldn’t it be easier to just use a white ball to begin with? :)
ummm… wouldnt a blue ball be pretty easy to spot in the woods? not many blue rocks out there.
I’m thinking it’s something to do with the reflection of light rather than just the colour though. Just guessing… :-)
