3G Doctor. This new service promises to offer people video consultations with registered doctors via their 3G video phones. With payment up front (just in case you croak on the call eh?). Considering that this ‘inexpensive’ telemedicine service is due to start in Q4 of this year, the web site is pretty disgusting. Lots of hospital green and zero bedside manner. Tsk. (Oh and the image above is actually from a pretty cool remote monitoring tech demo developed by Loughborough University which aims to use credit card sized transmitters and mobile phone networks to send patient vital signs to docs and hospitals on demand).

3G Doctor is set to launch UK public access in Q4, 2006 and will initially offer an inexpensive means of access to the impartial advice of independent private doctors. Payment will be made upfront using popular payment means to ensure an easy and simple means of charging.
