The Electric SUV – if you can’t beat them…?

EboxelectricSUV

The eBox Electric Power SUV. Using the same basic power train as the new Tesla EV sports car, this tricked out Toyota Scion xB goes 0–60 in under 7 seconds, is electronically limited to 90 mph, has a 140 to 180 mile range and comes with power steering, air conditioning and a 5300 cell Li-Ion battery. Oh and it costs 0.02c per mile to run. The Scion will cost you around $15,000, and the EV conversion will add $55,000 on top plus tax and stuff. Delivery in 2007, oh and did we mention it’s for California only?

The eBox is a new electric car from AC Propulsion. We designed it to meet the needs of urban and suburban drivers who want smooth, quiet, powerful, efficient, clean, convenient, and fun-to-drive transportation. The eBox will satisfy those drivers because it is powered by AC Propulsion’s patented drive system technology that delivers an unprecedented combination of both power, at freeway speeds, and efficiency, when the going gets slow.

  • Plus, those 5300 Li-Ion cells will have to be replaced about every 2-3 years…. should only cost you…um…. $8,000 to $12,000 depending if you can get a bulk price on the cells.

Have a good one when that happens….

  • Hmm…is it really 2 to 3 years Jerry? I thought it was longer than that.
