Electric cars on a charge in China?

ChineseEV

Western manufacturers may be dragging their feet over electric cars, or EVs as they’re known in polite circles, but it looks as though the Chinese are taking the whole thing rather more seriously. The rather squat looking thing above is the TEGO from JPJ Consulting, which is just one of a number of Chinese EV products that you can find online.

The Smart Elcetric (sic) Motor Car from Jinan Allied Trading has a max speed of 40 km, and a range of 130 km.

Electriccar4wheels

The imaginatively named Electric Car 4 Wheels, also from Jinan, is clearly based on a familiar European product, the Smart Car, and has a 55km top speed and 130 km range again.

Meanwhile the XY-EC3 EV from Xiangyu Co. Ltd is clearly in another class. It looks to be based around an aging Alfa Romeo design, and promises 120km speed and a maximum range with Lithium batteries of 440 km.

None of the above cars are in mass production of course, but it’s interesting to see a few companies starting to explore the market for these vehicles.

…and let’s not mention the proper Chinese Smart EV fake from manufacturer CMEC, shall we?
