Senao 668 cordless phone – awesome 128 km range

Senao668longrangecordless

The Senao SN-668 Long Range Cordless Phone System. Forget about those piddling little 30 metre range cordless phones, if you really want to talk long distance on a cordless system you need one of these puppies. 128 kilometer range with booster antennas, which makes it a real alternative to a standard mobile phone. You can use it as a normal phone or a walkie talkie, and even transfer calls between handsets. Goodbye cell phone charges for local businesses? Er…but do note that you may annoy a *lot* of communications officials in your area if you use one of these without the requisite permissions. $389.00 for base unit, sub unit, handset and a pair of antennas.

Multi-handset system (up to 5 handsets can be used at the same time) · Transferring calls between handsets · Can be used as a Walkie-Talkie · Handset with speakerphone function · Base unit speakerphone · FSK/DTMF auto caller ID · MCU control, 100,000 different sets of security code capability · Large LCD display that illuminates in the dark · Time display with alarm function · Talk time display · 8 different ring tones

  • Buy one of these and put it in the garage next to generator ready for the next hurricane. When all cell and phone service is out and FEMA can barelly show up, I’m pretty sure no FCC official is going to be snooping around looking for my sole-working phone.

  • This is one of those “line-of-sights” deal. I know that as far as CBs and other long-range radio transceivers are concerned, they hardly ever work. I suspect that any obstacles that are in the path between the phone and the base unit is going to kill the range on this. Good idea but not sure it’s implemented correctly (ie, amps, roof installation, long antenna and portable pack). The site hints at this also:

“Communication range is up to 68-128Km (direct line of sight without interference)”

  • Rick – interesting idea. Emergency use is also a valuable idea.

Twocents – no good for cities then? Mmm….shame.

  • If it's a "cordless ophone" then it requires the base to be plugged into the wall, correct? Then how do you plan on using it when all phone service is out? That would be the service to the wall unit that this is plugged in to, would be out… Soooo, still no service… Just a hunch…

  • i have this phone 15 days ago but i can not use it because there is no user manual or codes to connect the hand with the base

  • WARNING TO ALL – THIS MODEL IS NOT ORIGINAL SENAO MADE IN R.O.C TAIWAN
    Is clones/fakes product from CHINA

MAKE SURE IT IS ORIGINAL :

Long Range Cordless Telephones with brand names Sony, Nokia, Samsung or even SENAO Made in CHINA, are clones/fakes products with more accessible prices, but they are mono-channel and most frequently work of public service. They have low quality parts and is in possible to be repaired .

Please be aware that large quantities of SENAO product clones/fakes have flooded the world market. Make no mistake, they are cheap imitations made available through various media outlets such as technology magazines, familiar auction and e-commerce web sites. Take care by asking yourself some simple questions when viewing the advertisement. Is the pricing unreasonably low compared to the real product? Where is it made? What is the model number? Real products are made in Taiwan and contain the model such as # SN358. Clones are often made in China and have a variation, but not always in the phone info model details. Original brands Sony, Nokia or Samsung dont have production for long range cordless telephones and on world market you can find only clones/fakes products.

The biggest clue is the price. Authentic products are priced the way they are for a reason: High quality components, product warranties and customer support are cost items that are reasonably built into a real SENAO product price. Authorized dealers and distributors ARE prepared to stand by and support the products they sell to you. Cloned products is NOT POSSIBLE be supported.

Unfortunately, more and more buyers are unknowingly falling victim to these false/fake products. They are then subjected to substandard equipment, which either malfunction, by poor quality components that overheat or fail after little or no use – the hazardous and legal implications are endless. The lifetime of a cloned/fake product average around 3 weeks to 6 months. You would be throwing your money and time away.

Please understand what you are buying.

  • They say that we can use 5 sub base or handset. How can I assign the sub bases. How can I know that which one is S1, S2 or S3. Is there any change with the freguency or the code? If so, please tell me. I read the manual but I don't get it. I bought a base and two sub base but till now I cannot use. Only base to base is working.
