ATC-2000 Action Camera – a life cam at the right price

Actioncamera

The ATC-2000 Action Camera is a waterproof and shock resistant ultra-portable digital video camera which comes with a helmet strap, handlebar bracket and two general purpose Velcro strips, which means that you can basically stick it anywhere you like. Capture all the fun of cycling to work, kayaking to your accountants or sky-diving with grandma. No audio and only VGA resolution, but that should still be enough to see the fear on that pedestrian’s face. Internal 32 MB of memory and an SD slot will give you enough footage to bore an elephant. Best of all it’s just £99.95.

After a radically bodacious (or something like that) day of filming you can watch the action, exactly as you saw it, by plugging the Action Camera into your PC (via USB) or TV (via RCA cables). Overdubbing the soundtrack with a suitably up-tempo metal anthem is entirely up to you. The Action Camera features 32MB of onboard memory, expandable to 2GB via SD card…

  • I had this imported (I’m in Austria), and for the price it’s ok, but that’s all. It’s going to be my toy camera on next holiday. And btw, it does have Audio, a simple 8KHz, and it’s bad (though a concert bootleg was suprisingly well audible). The ATC2K is a very handy one button all-in-one solution, it’s watertight and easy to use.
There was quite some rave across the internet about this camera, but everyone expected much more than the price could possibly suggest, therefore much negative was said. The material this camera produces is sufficient for the internet video sites. That’s where it ends, I’d say.

  • I've had my atc2000 for over 6 months and I'm really pleased with it. Yes it has limitations, but you can work around them. The sound doesn't really need to be great when you're mountain biking down hill, but I do wish it sometimes picked up conversations better.

Over all, it's a great buy!!
