Ask An Owner is a pretty cool idea. Get help, support and advice from the actual users of products, rather than just ‘experts’ per se. Of course it relies on a large collection of product owners to make it work, but the basic premise is really sound. Post a question, and receive an email notification of a reply within hours from someone who owns the product you’re asking about and has the answer. And it seems to work. Excellent. (See also SuTree which offers free video help via community).
AskAnOwner uses the Internet to create a community of real users of products and services that help each other with important buying decisions on high-involvement products and services. Visitors can browse through product categories and find owners for a large selection of products and services. The scale of the owner database of AskAnOwner makes sure that answers can be found even to questions on the rarest of products. A secure and anonymous mail forwarding and notification system safeguards confidentiality of personal information.
