Soziety – Skype as a language tutor

Soziety

Soziety is one of those simple ideas which is so obvious it hurts. Combine Skype with a plug-in which connects users from different countries and you’ve got the perfect real-time language lab. Yep, you’ve got it. The system puts together users who speak one language with those that want to speak another, and you chat to each other to learn your language. Zenophobics need not apply.

All you have to do is install Skype in your computer and signing in to soZiety. This will allow you to look for people that you might want to talk to. When you select one of them soZiety will start a Skype call to that user. From that moment on, you take control. You may want to introduce yourself, ask for a specific subject, or just chatting for fun. Please, remember to be nice. This will make other users to rate you as a friend and talk to you regularly.

  • In case you want to learn a language from a professional or someone who already knows your language you can use a Skype Extra called BitWine. (Tools->Do-More->Get Extra->BitWine) It let’s you find language teachers who are willing to teach you for a small fee.

In fact you may become a paid teacher in your own language if you have the skills and patience. You can also start from http://BitWine.com to register.

  • I do not want to bother you with advertising messages, but I think you might be interested in a site that some friends will launch: http://www.wachywachy.com

It will allow people who want to practice conversation to improve a language to contact tutors around the world to practice conversation via Skype, Google Talk or by telephone.

You can register as a tutor, to make money talking in your language, or as a student to improve speaking any language with native speakers, or both at once.

They are in pre-registration stage and plan to give advantages to those who sign up before launch.
