350 Pages is a new free online web site creation service. OK, so there’s a bunch of these DIY sites out there, some good, some not, but this one is not bad at all. Why? Well it’s very very simple for a start. Every element on the page has a ‘hover over’ toolbar which you use to edit, remove or add. So you can literally drag things around, resize them, and remove or change them all in an instant. And without knowing any code at all. Images can be edited in place, tweaked, moved around etc…neat.
It’s still in beta so there are still a fair amount of bugs and features which don’t work. For instance I couldn’t resize the top banner, and adding new elements can break the layout. Also there’s currently no way to send objects to the back of others, so if you have multiple elements you’re trying to layer together on a page, tough. The list of available templates is also very small and to be honest they’re rather boring. But if the developers have any sense, they’ll invest in a shed load of really good looking designs (they’ve promised hundreds) which will make this a pretty nice resource.
350pages is the long awaited answer to creating web pages easily and quickly. Creating your website is easy and fun – simply select a template and customize everything – headings, buttons, style, colour, fonts, dividers, images and background. Drag and drop the objects wherever you want them. The file uploader will compress your photos for use on your webpages and you can enhance them using the inbuilt photo editor. It’s quick, simple, fun to use and you get stunning, professional website in minutes. The first release is available now for you to build your own website – and it’s FREE
