Alien Tech Film Projector – turn your wall into a pint sized cinema

Filmprojector2

Alien Tech Film Projector. Comes complete with amp and speakers and a lamp. Plug your games console, DVD player or digital camera into the sockets and you’re supposed to get a  six foot image from a distance of 80 inches. However, if past experience with this type of equipment is anything to go by, don’t expect a stunning home theatre level of brightness or clarity from the image. One for the kid’s bedroom perhaps? £149.00.

Delivering a six foot diagonal image at its optimum projection distance of 80 inches, it’s also truly portable (weighing only 1.5kgs) so you can easily move it from room to room. Listen to the action through the speakers, or plug in headphones to give everyone else a bit of peace and quiet, and it even has a vertical stand, so you can lie on your back and watch the action on the ceiling. It comes with focus, brightness and contrast controls and is suitable for use with DVD Players, TVs, PCs, Nintendo, Playstation, X-Box, iPods and Digital Cameras.

  • Not for the US? Has it been put on our ridiculous the “No Fly” list or something?

I think the statement above sums it up nicely.

I started looking for reviews of this thing (not expecting many since it’s a new product) and came across only a single comment at http://www.uberreview.com:

I got one of these at BJs for $150. Its completely not worth it. Hooked it up to my BeyondTV rig, and the picture is readble, but the text isnt even close.

  • Mystech,

I had turned up another site selling this when I was looking for reviews. I didn't see any shipping limitations (started their checkout process and options to ship to many countries existed).

They also have it priced lower at £119.

PS: If anyone has any additional reviews, would love to hear about it. The price is great but meaningless if the quality sucks. Thanks!

  • Thanks Joe!

    The reviews are surprisingly good.
