Kwari. Well it had to come. A first person shooter (FPS) game which pays real life cash for success. Judging by the site blurb it looks as though the developers have really put a lot of thought into the game and pay engine, as well as anti-cheating system, which means that this could be a very interesting experiment indeed.
The game features challenges, traps (which drain your money), in-game cash prizes and pickups and something called The Pill, which is like a super game jackpot. One crucial aspect will be the way the game deals with uber-players, so it’s interesting to see that the devs claim to have completely leveled the playing field so that rookies have as good a chance to earn as experts. Definitely one to watch.
Kwari has been designed with a singular purpose in mind – to give you the opportunity to translate your shooter skills into some serious cash. Everything about the game has been tailored to that effect…We generate money from the game purely through the sale of ammo. The price has not been finalised yet, but it will not be expensive – after all, charging too much to play the game would severely dampen the interest in playing it. The ideal that we’re working towards is that the cost of ammo will be significantly outweighed by a successful, profitable single match.
Hmm… Indeed this was only a matter of time. However I am a little leery of any game that is somehow able to nerf the abilities of an experienced Uber player to the extent that they could possibly be pwned by n00bs…
Yes, that might be a little difficult to do…ah…elegantly. :-) But they seem confident?
