Howsar Quick Lock – simple, cheap security lock for peace of mind

Howsarlock

The Howsar Quick Lock is an ingenious device made out of reinforced nylon. Slide the tongue into the door jamb then close the door and slot the cogged wedge into place. Voila, the door can’t be opened even if someone has the key. Perfect for nervous hotel visitors and the like. It’s award winning and costs just £4.99. Neat.

The How Sar Lock is made of two simple parts connected by a flexible tie – a slotted receiver and a curved wedge. The receiver fits into the recess in the door frame, where the latch fits. This locates between the door and frame when the door is closed. The curved wedge then slides into the slot in the receiver thus locking the receiver in position and preventing the door from opening. To open the door simply slide the curved hook out of the hole in the plate and open the door.
