PrefPass – universal login system for website owners

Prefpass

PrefPass is a new service which lets website owners embed a universal login widget on their site. This gives your visitors the chance to log in using their preferred ID service (like Yahoo!, OpenID or Facebook). It’s a nice idea, but I have to say that the set up is overly long and complex. They’d do themselves a big favour by trying to simplify matters a lot. Nevertheless it’s one to watch!

PrefPass is the solution to Web 2.0 login proliferation. Nobody likes having to go through the whole registration and login rigmarole over and over again. But when a site uses PrefPass, you can use the IDs you already have to join. Maybe you’re one of the millions with a Yahoo! ID or AOL screen name; or maybe you’re a huge OpenID fan; or maybe you always stay logged into Facebook. No matter which ID you feel like using, PrefPass has you covered.
