A 15-in-1 Player? Too much, too soon.

Megxonmmplayer

The Megxon M500 15 in 1 Multimedia Player. 5 megapixel camera (interpolated to 12mpx), digital video recorder from TV, camcorder, webcam, games console (woo, Tetris), MP3 player, Photo jukebox and player, PDA (clock, calendar, calculator, currency, blah…), USB drive, voice recorder onto SD. Did we miss anything Marge? Oh..and a removable hard disk is…*cough*…coming…*cough*. $256.80. Why do I feel that this is possibly not an astoundingly high quality product, hmm?

  • I have done a bit of research on this MMP. It is selling fabulously in European countries. I’ve seen posts by several people that actually have one in the states and most of them love it and the price. Personally, I think big manufacturers would like to see this porduct shut down. There is also a docking station, already available, in Europe, but not in the states, yet. It accepts up to 1G SD, so you could carry a pretty nice library of movies, music and photos in a small pouch or purse.

It is also pictbridge enabled, so it will work the new Easyshare sub dye photo printer, with digital display, that also has pictbridge.

Now, I am not saying a professional photographer would appreciate this as a camera. I’m a single mom and I am not fixated on brand names. I’ve had trouble with plenty of big name products. I want to able to get my groceries and pay my heating bills, without running up, credit cards, I don’t have one and won’t get one.

More expensive electronics are going to plastic “metal look” exteriors, these days. Most everything is made cheap, they just charge a lot for the technology and this has abundant technology, at a great price. Almost no big name manufacturers back up warranties, any more, if they ever did. So many high tech items, big name, big cost items don’t even work properly out of the box. Worse yet, often the consumer is stuck. If they send it back, as stated, often they wait months and get it back, still not working or working even worse. I’ve read so many reviews from consumers that feel ripped off by the big brand names, it is awful.

I think this is well worth checking out, I think might be great for teens and adults, that want everything and still be able to afford to buy groceries and pay the heating bills. I have two of these, on the way and one of the new Kodak Easyshare Printers and enough paper and cartridges for 320 4×6 pictures. My teenage daughter and I will either be disapointed or ecstatic, for our everyday pciture taking. Happy about playing the games and being able to take TV and music with us, on the go. I have a DVD and VHS player, in my minivan, now I will have the M500. I think it will beat either, lots of choices, small space, easy to carry. It sounds like heaven to me! I’ve paid more and been disapointed, so I’ll wait and see.
