ActiveInbox is a nifty freeware program which hooks into your Chrome or Firefox browser to add email management functions to Gmail. It’s based on the well knownn GTD (Get Things Done) formula, which means it’s logical and effective if followed.
Once installed, all you do is agree some labels and priority tags and start managing your emails rather than let them overwhelm you. You can tag each message with a To-Do action such as Next or Some Day and the software will keep you informed of what needs doing urgently and what can wait. You can also set deadlines and track conversations easily using the system, as well as tag outgoing messages to ensure they stay connected with the right projects and tasks.
All in all it’s a very impressive system, and while it’s not immediately intuitive as to how to get the best out of it, by spending a little time with the help pages you should be able to start getting benefits quite rapidly if you follow the main rule – keep your inbox clear of clutter. Definitely worth a look.
Never forget an important email With ActiveInbox, nothing disappears between the cracks. Never forget an important email, track every email you send to guarantee results and easily retrieve knowledge stored in the depths of your archive.
