No seriously, who sits down and says, ‘hey I know, let’s turn a baseball cap into a wearable‘? Sure it’s going to look good on the marketing blurb, and it’s definitely trendy to be tracking all kinds of useless stuff. But a hat? Anyhoo, it’s here, and you’re supposed to buy it.
The Activity Tracking Smart Hat is apparently so intelligent that it took 4.5 scientists just to work out how to switch it on. Or something. If hooks up to your smartphone via Bluetooth (natchurally!), and manages to cleverly detect your heart rate from your head. We’re not sure if that’s head bobbing or head pulsing, but either option sounds gee awesome.
As if that wasn’t enough, the marvel cap will also transmit your steps and calories burned to your phone or fitness watch too, without nasty old straps and metabolic implements. Who knew a hat could do so much? It works for 17 hours per charge of the 100 mAh internal battery and is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Price? $99.99. Man, all this smart stuff is starting to make us feel D.U.M.B.
