Arcade Machine Piggy Bank encourages kids to save their coins

Want a good way to encourage kids to save their coins? Usually the best way to get kids to do something is with a reward. Take this Arcade Machine Piggy Bank for instance, each time you drop in a coin, you get 2 minutes of play. Of course, the biggest downside here is that the youth of today is spoiled. Just look at the video games that are out there now, what child would really get that excited over a Space Invaders clone on a tiny screen?

If you really want your kid to save up their coins, just buy a real arcade machine. Sure, they’ll be trying to trade you nickels and dimes for quarters all the time, but they’ll be scrounging around for change just to play it. The real upside is that you’ll also get to enjoy their piggy bank. You just don’t have to tell them that there’s a switch for free play. This option may also defeat the purpose of teaching them the value of a dollar, since it would take years to save up enough quarters just to pay for the arcade machine itself.
