The new Parrot Bebop 2 HD Drone (quadcopter) is the latest in the range of ultra steady flying cameras from the French manufacturer. The product is a completely new build from the ground up, which means they’ve managed to incorporate some neat updated features, including 25 minutes flying time, while keeping the weight of the whole craft to just 500g. Pretty cool.

Slashpipe – power up your six-pack with some water

We’re a little surprised that someone hasn’t come up with this idea before, but now it’s here – courtesy of the clever Germans. The Slashpipe (English translation) is a water filled tube which you use as an exercise accessory. The idea is the liquid is constantly fighting the body in terms of balance and equilibrium, which therefore delivers a more potent workout. When you think about all that stuff sloshing around as you wave your arms, it’s easy to see…

Nexus 6P Smartphone – The Top 10 Features On This Great New Google Phone [Review – Editors Choice]

It’s pretty clear that we’re reaching some sort of plateau in terms of smartphone development. The Whitelist Manifesto – please whitelist The Red Ferret in your Ad-blocker to support our work?

(credit -freeimages.com/b.hazell) The Red Ferret, along with just about every other free content website on the planet, relies on advertising to cover costs and keep the lights on. In our 15 years of existence we have always tried to minimize the impact of these ads, by refusing to use pop-unders, inline text ads and other nasty adverting options which ruin the reading experience or hijack the browser. We will continue to refuse these options. But the fact is that we,…

DV8 Backpack Golf Clubs – no more lugging around that huge bag

This golf game is all well and good, but there’s one huge hassle. OK two huge hassles. The first is having to trudge around 50 miles of turf to locate and retrieve your lost balls en route to that teeny tiny hole. The second is having to haul a huge bag of clubs while you’re at it. We can’t really do anything about the first problem – just play better all right? – but now the other issue may be…

Crunch – reclaim valuable photo space on your phone memory [Freeware]

If you’re like us, you’ve got something like 200,000 photos stored on your phone, dating back to when the Sumarians first conquered Babylon. Or close. Well let’s just say you’ve got a lot of snaps, and the problem is you’re running out of space to add more. Sure you could delete some (gasp!) or swap memory cards, but that means losing your archive. But now there’s a better way which gives you more free space, for free.
