Bulletproof Clipboards protect your documents from projectiles

The Boyscouts have it right with their motto always be prepared. Of course, just how many things can one person be prepared for? Well if you’re someone that works in an office, you can keep yourself ready for a shootout simply by having the right office supplies around. Which office supplies? Just one, a Bulletproof Clipboard. A company by the name of Ballistic Systems specializes in clipboards that can take a bullet. Obviously aimed at law enforcement officials, the boards…

Hand Paper Shredder lets you shred your documents by hand

I’ve never had the need for a paper shredder, though I can understand why some people might. If you have sensitive paperwork that you need to dispose of, you might not want to leave it in tact for others to find in the trash. I suppose I just don’t have a lot of sensitive information to throw away, as I get most important documents online. So what does one do if they only need to destroy a few pieces of…

Adidas hurts my eyes with these Star Wars Top Ten Low Droid Shoes

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a huge Star Wars nut. I’ve got posters, LEGO sets and a lightsaber, of course. However, there are some branded items that I just couldn’t ever bring myself to buy. Take these Top Ten Low Droid Shoes from Adidas, they look hideous. I get that they were going for a mash-up of C-3PO and R2-D2, but I don’t understand why. Maybe it’s my poor fashion sense, but having half of a shoe…

Get your caffeine kick with Perky Jerky

In this day and age, it’s hard not to feel like you’re working all the time. Be it school, a job, or personal projects, it seems like there is always something to be done. So how do you make it through the day? Personally, I rely heavily on large doses of Mountain Dew throughout the day. Maybe you rely on beef jerky. Well, not just any jerky, Perky Jerky. Apparently someone out there discovered that they could craft some excellent…

Turn your old satellite dish into Captain America’s shield

Do you have an old satellite dish lying around that you just don’t know what to do with? If it’s not pulling down a TV signal, the device is pretty much useless, right? Perhaps not. With a little hard work and elbow grease, it could be the perfect patriotic crime fighting weapon. That’s right, I’m talking about Captain America’s shield! If you think about it, the old dish is the perfect shape and size. That’s what made one Instructables user…

Talking Chess Set will set you back $30k

Chess is a game that’s been around for a long while. Despite its age, it is still one of my favorites. There is so much that you have to concentrate on, planning out your moves while trying to predict how your opponent will react. With all of that mental work going on, there isn’t always time for chit-chat. With this fancy Talking Chess Set, you don’t have to worry about conversation. Artist Barbara Kruger designed this chess set using three…

Add a zoom lens to your older iPhone

Would you like to do a bit more with your iPhone’s camera? Specifically, with the older 3G and 3GS models. Being a former owner of both, I can attest to the the fact that they don’t have the greatest cameras in the world. If you want to take a picture from far away, you’re pretty much out of luck. Unless you have the right equipment, that is. The Eye Scope for iPhone is a combination of case, tripod and lens…

How cute, an iPad holder that looks like an apple

Are you the kind of person that gets excited when they say the name of the movie in the movie? Well then perhaps you’ll find this little iPad Apple Shape Holder Stand amusing as well. You see, it’s an apple, that holds your Apple device. Get it? It’s very minimalist, and doesn’t do anything more than is absolutely necessary. At least the $8 price is minimalist as well.

R2-D2 mug is the droid you’re looking for

When you think about the heroes of Star Wars, does R2-D2 come to mind? Sure, Luke blew up the Death Star, and Han took out the shield generator for the second one, but R2 had his share of victories. I mean, if he hadn’t taken it upon himself to run off and find Obi-wan, or fixed the hyperdrive on the Millenium Falcon, things would not have turned out quite the same for the rebels. To commemorate his achievements, why not…

Jump-Start CARD lets you siphon power from one battery to another

Our reliance on portable technologies is a double-edged blade. On the one hand, we have more information available at our fingertips than ever before. Sometimes it seems like we can do almost anything, just using the devices we carry around on a daily basis. Of course, on the other hand, we’re limited by how long our batteries last. Once they run out, we’re dead in the water, so to speak. Here’s an interesting concept that could prove very useful, if…

Large Pocket Shirt lives up to its name

You know those t-shirts that have a little pocket on one side? What exactly do people use those pockets for, other than a pack of cigarettes? Maybe a cell phone, but not much else seems to fit in that little pocket. What you really need is a pocket that spans your entire chest. Then you can cram your phone, wallet, car keys, and probably some of your groceries too. You can get this Large Pocket Shirt for $30. Better yet,…

Photojojo brings back the Polaroid Instant Camera

Technology is amazing these days, isn’t it? Being in my mid-20’s, I fee like I’ve gotten to experience a very interesting transitional period. When I was younger, the personal computer was just becoming something that people could actually afford, and I was able to see a period where almost no one carried cell phones. These days it’s hard to find anyone without both of those devices. Something else I remember is Polaroid cameras. Now I know that you can still…

Skyscraper scratching posts makes your cat look like King Kong

If you’re a cat owner, you have three choices when it comes to their pointy little claws. First, you can have your cat declawed. Second, you can buy scratching posts. Finally, your cat can use your furniture, walls, etc as scratching posts. Personally, I went for the first option, as I really don’t like my things torn up. If you’re against declawing your feline friend, then I might suggest this awesome Cats Attack! Scratching Post. Sure, it might be an…

iProp is probably the tallest iPad stand you’ll find

I’m an iPad owner, and I have to say that it really is one of the most useful gadgets I’ve purchased in the last couple of years, save my phone. I have a fairly useful stand that does a good job of holding it upright, and allowing me to rotate between portrait and landscape modes. However, it does require a flat surface, and doesn’t have a lot of flexibility. Something like this iProp would be far more useful. The iProp…

Microsoft adds Tracking Protection to Internet Explorer 9

I haven’t used Internet Explorer in many years. Well, not for anything other than downloading a better browser on a fresh Windows install. Of course those that are less tech-savvy are perfectly happy using the browser that’s given to them, and thus IE still has a very large user base. That’s why I’m always happy to see improvements made to future versions of the browser. One interesting feature that we should see in IE9 is called Tracking Protection. This will…
