BeMeBlackBox – the awesome car crash camera on your mobile phone

Bemeblackbox

BeMeBlackBox is an extremely cool software program for Android mobile phones which turns your handset into a car crash camera. Just mount your phone onto the windscreen with the camera lens facing forward, fire up the program and it will automatically save the last x seconds of video (you set the time) if a) there’s a crash with a significant G force jolt or b) you press the big save button. It will then automatically upload the footage to YouTube.

The thing about disruptive technologies is they kinda creep up on you while you’re facing the other way, and the meteoric rise of the application running smartphone looks as though it’s about to put a lot of dedicated device makers out of business very quickly. Which is either a shame or a good thing depending on your religion. If you can run this alongside your standard GPS navigation software, you’ve got some awesome application value right there. Price? $2.65.

BeMeBlackBox continuously records and deletes video from a windshield mounted phone. When you crash, or when you press the Save button, it saves the last X seconds, and the previous video file just in case. You can set the length of the video file. If selected, it will also upload the file automatically to YouTube.

  • Hello Nigel, Dear Red Ferret,

I am honored and humbled by your surprising review of my application. Thank you so much (as I am exhausted by the "final dash" of development to release it).
If anyone has any questions about this app, please feel free to contact me at http://www.bemecollective.blogspot.com I'll be more than happy to assist or answer any questions.

    Best regards

    Ari

(By the way, if you think this is "disruptive technology", modesty aside, you ain't seen nothing yet… big paradigm change coming to you in the medium-range future courtesy of BeMeCollective)
