BeNosey – ridonkulous new search engine delivers one click ease of use…and seared eyeballs

We’ve covered some weird search engines in our time, remember the one which promised to unseat Google from its dominant position? Yeah right, well moving swiftly along, we’re now pleased as punch to be able to offer you yet another fine piece of Internet engineering, and one which is definitely destined to make your eyes water.

BeNosey is a brand new service which ‘reinvents the search engine format‘ – it says here – by providing picture based search based on thumbnails and icons. Yep, all you do to search is click on a small image on the page, and you’ll be whisked away to the destination of your dreams.

The more astute among you will recognize that the concept comes with one or two tiny flaws which may render long term use rather problematic. That’s right, our brain doesn’t operate in icon mode, so our searches are typically more…um…descriptive, which means we’re unlikely to be able to do the kind of real searching we need just by clicking a button.

Still it’s an interesting idea, right? And the developers have clearly thought things through, since the page is fully customizable – well you can re-arrange things, and change colors and icon logos – and there are no ads or pop ups to spoil your enjoyment. Can you imagine using this site if it had pop-ups too? Wow.

The developers believe their new app will particularly enhance the lives of those who do searches from smartphones, since clicking on an icon is very much easier and quicker than speaking into Google search or typing in a word on the touchscreen. We’re not so convinced. Give it a go and let us know though, we could be completely wrong.
