Despite the stigma, Bluetooth headsets are pretty darn useful things and bluetooth specialty company, BlueAnt, is doing some great things. Their latest offering is the Z9i bluetooth headset which adds some extra oomph to their CES 2007 award winning Z9 headset. First it allows you to pair it with up to 5 devices instead of the usual 1. So you can pair it with your phone, your other-half’s phone and even the laptop so you can Skype with it. You can even have 2 phones connected to it at once.
Like the Z9 it still has two microphones, one for the voice and one for ambient noise which it uses to clean up the voice signal resulting in much clearer calls. It also comes with a bunch of ear-friendly options such as a different of ear hooks and interchangeable ear buds so you can find the one that fits just right. There’s even a built-in clip ala the iPod shuffle so you can clip it on your shirt when it’s not being used to avoid the Locutus look. The headset lasts for 5.5 hours of nattering or 200 hours of hanging around, weighs a grand total of 10 grams and uses Bluetooth 2.0. The über geeks can even upgrade the headset’s firmware!
The BlueAnt Z9i is the follow up to the award winning and highly successful Z9 Bluetooth Headset. The device includes additional box contents and enhanced features. Incorporating BlueAnt’s revolutionary Digital Signal Processing solution – Voice Isolation Technology, the Z9i provides outstanding noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction.
