BMW – purveyor of top quality cars – has plans for a smaller, city-style electric car. The neat thing about it is the electricity will be stored in a water-cooled lithium-ion battery pack that’s expected to provide a 100-mile range.
This super-efficient, four-seater, three-door hatchback, currently called the BMW City/Project i , is being designed specifically for the U.S. market will meet California’s Zero-Emission-Vehicle (ZEV) requirements and will be smaller than the Honda FIT. With tentative plans for a launch in 2012 or 2013, BMW thinks prices will start well under $20,000.
Sounds like good clean affordable fun to me!
