Budget4All is a free household cashflow analysis program which helps you identify useful monetary ‘what-ifs’ in your life. This makes it somewhat different from conventional budgeting software which tends to look at historical data.
The idea is you enter in the actual figures of your current budget – you know income, expenses, all that – and can then run simple simulations (e.g. what would happen if I lost my job? interest rates go up? gran leaves me $10 million?) to see how you would fare financially. These scenarios and the resultant analysis make the program very useful, which is probably just as well in these volatile times.
It’s a Java program (only Windows at the moment though) and comes in four different languages.
Budget4All is a Java desktop application intended to help you manage your personal or family budget in order to forecast your cashflow, in an easy but powerful way. From my own experience, I have found that to efficiently manage a budget, it is much more useful to focus on forecasting the future incomes and expenses, instead of investing a lot of time entering past bills and looking at old financial data. I have written this application to reach that objective and I share it with you for free !
I like this software, I have been using it for the last 2 years. Very useful and flexible indeed ! And it works too on Linux since it is a java program.
