Build your own laser guided slingshot

A slingshot is hardly considered a weapon by today’s standards. Sure, it can inflict damage upon someone if used in a violent manner, but they’re more used for fun target practice than anything. Part of the fun of using a slingshot is actually making it yourself, since it is rather simple. You need little more than a stick and a rubber band to craft a crude model. However, if you really want to go all-out, you can make one with a built-in laser for aiming.

You might not think it, but this laser guided slingshot isn’t all that hard to construct. A piece of aluminum tube, some bolts, a shifter handle and a few other parts are all that’s needed to craft this device. The only complicated parts are drilling a few holes and wiring up the laser, and even that is pretty basic. Check out the full instructions here for more info.

  • Great. Now I've clicked on the link and our local security services will be tracking me as a potential terrorist (catapults are illegal in my territory).

  • OK, so now there is a dot on my target. What next? I guess, I still have to aim. With a gun, the dot swivels with the barrel. What does this accomplish with a slingshot?

If this works, maybe we can start putting them on bats.
