Car Cassette MP3 Player – retro plastic gadget still plays on

Carcassettemp3player

Car Cassette MP3 Player. Civilisations come and go, land masses disappear but still the ancient technologies stay with us through all time. This audio cassette shaped MP3 player has been around for years, we first remember covering a model back in 1887, and here it is again…updated. The news is USB 2.0, SD card up to 2 GB, rechargeable Lithium battery and a 3.5mm earphone jack. $39.99.

This MP3 player is built into a standard cassette tape, letting you use it as either a uniquely old-school-style MP3 player, or with any car cassette or cassette player to play your music. You will have no problems listening to hours of your favorite songs via the built-in SD card slot, and you can easily change to different songs if you have multiple SD Cards. If you are into retro style looks but with a new technology upgrade, this is a MP3 player worth adding to your gear.

  • My questions:

Do you have to eject it every time you want to skip a song?

Does it pause when you turn off your stereo?

  • It's clever enough to switch off when not used for several minutes, and better still it will even skip songs with a 1 second push of fast forward/ rewind! Yes you'll need to eject it if you want to change the SD card though, but with around 500 songs on a 2GB card then that won't be very often.
When using in my car I leave it plugged into the car charger. As the charging socket is on the end it should be possible to have it plugged in while in most car tape players.
