Card sharp.

Fujifilmdcr2-161

The new Fujifilm DCR2–161 16–in-1 card reader and USB hub is certainly uber versatile, but I can’t help thinking that we poor consumers really shouldn’t have to deal with 16 different memory card formats for our devices, should we? If we had a bit more gumption we’d complain to to the manufacturers in a language they understand, by not buying into every crummy new format – you listening Sony? – and thereby force them to consolidate down to a more reasonable number, like…ah….perhaps two? But we’re a bunch of feeble muppets aren’t we, and so here we stand…

The DCR2-161 features three ultra-quick USB 2.0 connections to expand the functionality of a PC or Mac by enabling high-speed connections to a variety of other devices, such as digital cameras and PDAs. The device is also backwards compatible with USB version 1.1. The versatility of the DCR2-161 media card reader reduces the need to scrabble around at the back of your PC plugging and unplugging connections. It also comes complete with a power supply if a connecting device requires more power than is provided by the USB port, making it a true all-in-one device for data transfer.
