Whoa, those crazy folk at Carl Zeiss have released the Compact Prime CP.2 Cine Lens range, which are full movie-maker lenses which clip onto to standard DSLR cameras like the Canon 7D, Nikons et al. Not only that, but it comes with 3 different mounts, so you can choose your camera body on the fly.
Suddenly we’re talking about the ability to make serious movies with off the shelf digital cameras available on the high street. OK, so the lens will probably set you back $3000 or so, but that’s nothing compared to the alternative expense previously. Cue the wow moment. [Via]
