LED Gloves- You can dance if you want to

While music videos lead us to believe that hoards of people are naturally good at dancing, we know that isn’t true. It takes a lot of time and practice to make everything look fluid, but even then, not everyone is inclined to keep a beat with their feet. For those of you that want to get on the dance floor, but can’t get your whole body to coordinate, there are alternatives.

Transparent Playing Cards – not so perfect for poker night

When you think of playing a card game, there are some iconic figures that come to mind. The king, the queen, jack, joker, and the various artwork surrounding them that we all recognize and love. There are a bunch of different types of playing cards, and it doesn’t mean you’ll get any “better” by having a different kind of deck…or does it?

Marshmallow Bow – Fire in the hole!

Need to practice your archery skills so you can outdo Legolas? Archery takes some time to be proficient at, but picking up a compound bow and some arrows doesn’t mean that you can have at it anywhere you please. If you have absolutely no idea how to fire a decent shot, and don’t want to worry about injuring someone, there are projectiles that may only be able to harm a fly…and nothing else.

The Stinky Footboard may be a step in the right direction for gamers

If you are a PC gamer, you’ve likely played one or two games that require some quick thinking while hitting a LOT of different keys. It can be somewhat difficult to remember key placement in the heat of battle across different games, so it comes as no surprise that hitting the wrong key is a common incident. To make things easier on yourself, why not spread the keys out a little further?

Rollie Eggmaster – pop up toaster for eggs makes an absolute mockery of our breakfast conventions

Look, we’re all for progress, right? We love the advance of technology and the smell of burnt solder in the morning. But sometimes, just occasionally, someone in marketing gets a hangover and comes up with a product so bizarre that you start to wonder about the world in general.

Backwards Wall Clock will have your head spinning

There’s something we start to take for granted in our everyday surroundings. Those black rimmed wall clocks are one of them. We always check to see the time, but all we really need to see is the placement of the hour and minute hand. The ‘clockwise’ number rotation starting at twelve and ending at eleven just feels commonplace.

Crash Baggage looks like it’s lived a hard life, even though it’s brand new

Have you seen the style of clothes that has them looking beat up when you buy them off the rack? It’s a lot of money to toss at new old clothes, and they’re only going to diminish more over time. That’s the point though, right? Another item that sees similar amount of abuse from use is our luggage. It gets bumped and banged around either by us, or airline attendants. I suppose buying one that is pre-damaged would make things…

Pulse will have your heart racing

What things can raise your heartbeat? Working out, driving in traffic, or thinking you missed the bus are all definitely viable options. How many of you have ever played a game that really got your pulse roaring? Moreso than that, how many of you have played a game where the point was to play with your heart rate?

Finger Trap Purse – You can’t escape fashion

Do you remember those Chinese finger traps you would be locked in battle with as a kid? Once you mastered the art of not trying to pull your finger off and pushed your fingers together, you could once again be free. The initial panic of getting stuck in one though will forever be in your memory. If you don’t want to lose something, say, a purse, then a finger trap would be the optimal way to make sure you’d never…

A two-edged sword – transgenic tobacco to cure rabies? No GMO’s for me thanks!

A new study from St George’s University’s Hotung Molecular Immunology Unit in London has shown that tobacco plants can be genetically modified to produce rabies antibodies. Scientists hope that this research will deliver a safe, inexpensive way of treating rabies in developing countries.   These transgenic (read genetically modifed or GMO) plants were shown to neutralise the rabies virus. Definitely encouraging news … until you recognize that by “curing” one dreadful disease you’d be purposefully innoculating yourself with genetic material…
