Climate Change Myths – Skeptical Science takes a hard look at the facts

Climate change is a topic that won’t go away, and thankfully it looks as though more and more people are beginning to understand the real dangers that man-made warming is likely to create. Sure there are still deniers out there, mostly paid shills for the industrial combines, but even hardened deniers are now starting to see the light and switch sides.

Kalkhoff 24ah Lithium Battery extends standard electric bicycle range to 200 km

Electric bicycles are definitely becoming more popular as a form of commuter and leisure transport. They’re relatively cheap, very economical to run and have the added benefit of improving our health at the same time as we travel. In fact the only real drawback to them has been the meagre range you can get from a normal bike, unless you’re prepared to carry two batteries or a charger with you to work.

Water Pebble keeps track of your water usage

Have you ever wondered how much water you use while taking a shower? In any given bathing period, you’ll likely take time to shampoo your hair, wash off, and contemplate issues like world peace. Obviously standing in the shower to think is not such a good thing for our water bill, or the environment. So sometimes you need something to snap you back into reality, other than the hot water simply running out.

Eco-friendly Bambooee Paper Towels can be washed up to 20 times

When going to clean up a mess in the kitchen, you more than likely grab for the roll of paper towels. Normally, this would be fine, but seeing as you’re likely going to pull off twelve sheets for a tiny spot on the ground, it might be a little wasteful. Not to mention it’s just one more hit for the environment. Which is important to consider, if you’re into this whole green movement, that is.

If you’ve been trying to latch onto the green movement, and haven’t had much success, why not start with something simple, like switching to solar power for charging your phone? What if your wireless mouse didn’t need a battery?

When wireless mice first went mainstream, people were overjoyed to finally be rid of that annoying cable. While the appeal was there, they weren’t exactly the greatest of devices. Early receivers still had a cord, and still needed to be positioned on your desk to get a strong signal. And of course, battery life is still a problem these days. Sure, companies like Logitech have made mice that will go many months without needing fresh batteries, one company is taking…

Cuppow Transformer Top turns a canning jar into a coffee cup

Our generation seems to be rather concerned with going green. This means recycling, using less plastics, and trying to reuse things as opposed to throwing them away. If you happen to have a canning jar lying around, then Cuppow might just be a first step for reusing an old item if you haven’t started already.

Turbine Steampunk Fob Watch is solar powered

It’s no secret that I have a love for steampunk. I’m always on the lookout for items that incorporate the style into functional objects. One of my favorite things to see steampunked is a pocket watch. Unfortunately most of the ones I see look interesting, but are still nothing but battery-powered timepieces at their core. However, this Solar Powered Turbine Fob Watch has a bit more to it.

SolarKindle charges your eReader in the sun

It seems that books are starting to slowly filter out of homes, and eReaders and tablets are taking their place. Though it is a bit sad to see them go, the environment is probably a little happier about the shift. Even with these kinds of devices though, it takes energy to power them, which can be costly, and still have some adverse effects on the environment. Which is why cases like the SolarKindle can come in rather handy.
