Keylogger detector.

KL-Detector is a free utility which can detect keylogging activity on your computer. If you’re paranoid, download. Note – an interesting application given on the site is monitoring a flash drive used for remote access to a VPN on 3rd party computers. Hmm….  It works by scanning your local hard disk for any log file created during the monitoring process. Most keyloggers will eventually save the recorded data into a location in the hard disk. KL-Detector will inform you of such log…

Get Foxie.

Foxie. Turn your Internet Explorer browser into a Firefox clone. What’s utterly delicious about this little doozie, is not just the fact that it’s so clearly an attempt to put a mink coat on a pig and call it Marilyn Monroe, but that it completely fails to understand the really massive benefit of Firefox – i.e. the absolutely humongous number of add-on tools and utilities that are so much more than a bit of tabbed browsing and pop up blocking. Pfaff. Still, if you’re still wedded to the pile of…

Local host.

LocalHost. Very interesting Java based Open Source online file sharing application which combines a kind of wiki-like group access and editing facilty with the BitTorrent engine. What’s really funky is that the more popular a file or folder is, the more accessible it is. Still under heavy development by the looks of it (needs a nicer UI) so don’t cuss about the access speeds. Neat and definitely worth a download. [Thanks Tom]  You can change any folder (including the root…

Greasemap.

Greasemap is a cool little freeware tool that automatically embeds a Google map at the top of the screen when you browse a web page with an address on it. It needs Greasemonkey in order to work. I had it installed for a bit, but turned it off when I found it was slowing down my page accesses a bit. Still, pretty cool tech all round.  Greasemap…augments any web page you visit by searching the page for geocodeable addresses or other…
