Sound Effect Drum Machine Wallet – help people hear exactly when you open your wallet

Straight to us from the ‘what are they thinking?‘ department is this cute looking little Sound Effect Drum Machine Wallet which plays one of five drum beats every time you open it. So let’s get this straight, you’re trying to conduct your private financial transaction at a quiet neighborhood cash machine, and this thing will start up with a l33t drum lick when you want to get your credit card out? Brilliant!

Audio Engineer’s Hoodie – the perfect mix (!) of geek style and function

It’s important to realise that deep inside every geeked out audio engineer there’s a heart yearning to level up to some custom form of ultra subtle chic that an outboard rack and cable ties will never satisfy. And this goes double when it comes to fashion. How to reconcile a comfortable, slick hoodie with doing your job and staying in touch with the sounds? Well now, thanks to engineer Nic Pope, there’s a way to combine virtual invisibility with style,…

GuitDoorbell – the doorbell which thinks it’s a guitar…no wait…

We’re definitely going to file this one under…ah…weird. So it’s a guitar right, well a half size fully functional one anyway. But it’s designed to be used as a door bell too. We’re thinking that’s just in case you don’t have the spare cash to buy both items at one time. Or something.

Thrive One Year Food Pack – 9687 servings, enough for 1 person for 1 year, $0.16 c per serving

We’re trying hard not to get a little paranoid here, but should we be worried that some major retailers, both on and offline, are now openly stocking what they’re calling emergency food storage products? Yes yes, we know that emergencies happen all the time, but when you start pushing them in larger packs, that could be worrying.

Just Reach Out – forget PR agencies, all you need is this tool. Apparently…

We love it when new startups make big bold statements, because it’s so much fun watching them try to live up to them over the subsequent weeks and months. So it is with Just Reach Out, a new online service which apparently believes it can completely replace PR firms with a single Reach Out box.

Apple Files Walk & Text Patent – but isn’t it just a little too late guys?

Apparently an Apple patent filing has just surfaced from September 2012 which describes how the company would like to help people avoid bumping into things while texting. They would like to do this by turning the background of the phone into a video feed taken from the rear camera. All rather nice. Except for one small point.

FlyteNow – grab a ride in a small plane and act like you’re in a private jet

So let me get this straight. The idea is you sign up as a member of this new flight share service, called FlyteNow, and then you get the chance to book a flight with a small plane owner/pilot instead of booking a regular scheduled flight? And you may not get to save any money either, because regular domestic flights are still great value for money?
