Honda U3-X – more videos showing off awesome new miracle transporter

The astounding new Honda U3–X Personal Mobility Unicycle is getting some real buzz around the world right now, and well deserved too. These guys have managed to cram a Segway type transportation device into something backpack sized, with enough battery power to run for an hour and propel you along at something between 5 and 10 km/h. And all based around some super clever Asimo robot balancing technology. Miraculous indeed.   Of course it’s all concept/prototype talk right now, but…

TubeRadio – Spotify gets a feisty scruffy hustler as a neighbour

TubeRadio is a new arrival on the ‘all you can stream’ music scene, and while it’s nowhere near as polished as our current Swedish favourite Spotify, it’s actually not a bad effort at all. If Spotify is a suave rich uncle, TubeRadio is his slightly bratty nephew from the south side of the tracks, a bit gap-toothed and indolent but with good intentions. Sure it’s yet another YouTube audio scraping site, but at least they’ve gone and added some real extra…

Mini DV80s – voice activated mini clip-on video camera

The Mini DV 80s is a tiny (2″ high) clip-on action video camera. My japanese is super rusty but it seems to have a 2 megapixel camera with a 72 field-of-view that can shoot in 1 lux. It records video using Motion JPG at 640480 at 25 fps and the battery is good for 2 hours of video and sound recording. It writes onto a microSD card (up to 8Gb) and burns through about 1Gb of card space every 40…

Miro Adopt – adopt a line of code and help fund open source

Miro Adopt is a brilliant scheme to help fund one of the neatest open source projects around. Miro is an excellent free HD video player and TiVo type program grabber which will automatically download Internet video programming of your choice and store it on your hard disk for later viewing. Great for grabbing a whole series or must-have items like GeekBrief TV and TED Talks. It’s also BitTorrent friendly via LegalTorrent which makes it even more useful. Now the devs have…

Mogulus – run your own online television station, or stay a couch jockey

Mogulus is an online television/video service which not only provides the standard TV viewing experience, but also lets you create your own broadcast station if you fancy yourself as a bit of a media Moghul. Hmm…maybe that’s where the name came from? Anyhoo, the ‘Mogulus Studio’ part is where you can set up your own broadcast channel, complete with multiple camera mixing, live streaming, automated broadcasts and YouTube import. The result is a pretty cool television studio service all done…

TVWeb 360 lets you watch television from around the world for free. The site features over 1000 channels from 45 countries and in 16 languages, all nicely categorised by genre for easy viewing. Hint: the full screen button doesn’t seem to work, try double clicking on the video itself. It looks as  though it’s just a front end to other services, but interesting nonetheless. [Thanks Martin]  TVWeb360 provides a large collection of free Internet TV channels. Watch free TV Stations…

YouTube Edu – education gets a fab new home

YouTube Edu is proof that there’s no part of the world that the Web can’t touch in a significant way. It looks as though the Google machine has gathered together a bunch of educational video material to make a portal for online learning which could revolutionise the genre. C’mon, to have a chance of watching Professor Leonard Susskind of Standford University expound on Einstein’s general theory of relativity? Priceless. Oh and the time limits have been removed, so we’re talking full…

Bike Crash Cam – catch that bus as it speeds away

Yeah you can call it a mini video recorder, we’ll call it what it is…evidence. This Bike Crash Cam comes with a special mounting for the handle bars, a high resolution 1280×1024 cam, rechargeable battery, wide angle lens and a special mode for capturing escaping vehicles while you’re lying swearing in the gutter. What it also needs is some sort of tyre shredding missile launcher so they won’t get far, but that’s probably illegal, eh? $266.00.  The highest resolution small…
