Cerro Gordo – fancy your own ghost town?

It is really expensive to live in California but if you’re willing to make some sacrifices, you can buy your own ghost town for less than a shack in San Francisco. Cerro Gordo is up for sale and can make all your spooky California dreams come true.

This is a 300 acre ghost town. It used to be a silver mining town but now it’s just a historic landmark that doesn’t seem to be haunted. The ghost part refers to it’s emptiness, not possible paranormal activity. It includes 22 structures that range from mining buildings to a hotel on the land.

Obviously, this place needs serious work and is not exactly livable but with some off gird planning and maybe a trailer or two, who says this can’t be your lonely and creepy new home? Located well north of Los Angeles and nestled in between national parks, it is something to see. And will cost you less than a falling apart bungalow in the more populated parts of the state.
