Chameleon keyboard.

My chum Andy from Euphonix has sent me details of their new super keyboard for controlling multimedia editing on a PC. The Euphonix MC, which ships next year, features a bunch of very cool mini LCD keycaps which automatically change function and label according to the application being worked on. That is one neat idea, dude, hope it catches on with mainstream manufacturers. Check out the large image of the prototype on the site for more of an idea of what they’ve done.

‘The MCs programmable buttons switch functions with each different application running on the host PC for unrivalled speed of operation. MC includes a 5.1 monitor section, twin trackballs, standard full-size keyboard, 8 programmable knobs, 4 full-throw touch sensitive moving faders and 56 programmable LCD SmartSwitches together with a small touch screen for fast access to the units programmable features.’
