Facebook has taken the internet by storm over the last few years, and it seems that almost everyone has an account. I held out on getting an account for some time, not wanting to see the constant meaningless updates from my friends and family. Unfortunately, it’s such a good way to communicate with so many people that I can’t afford not to have one these days. One thing I’ve never liked about the site is the messenger feature. I like IM’ing as much as the next guy, but the web client has always been buggy, and using it forces me to keep an entire window up, just for a single chat. Well with Chit Chat for Facebook, that is an issue of the past.
I use a program that handles a variety of IM clients for my online chatting, however Chit Chat was made for those who only want to use Facebook. This is a simple and straightforward piece of freeware. Just download it, and enter your login credentials. You’ll be able to see who is on your contact list, and initiate chats, just like you would on the site. However, you only have one small window for the chat, instead of an entire browser window. You can even save your chat logs on your hard drive as html documents. If Facebook is the only chat client you use, this might be worth a look.
