Classic Music and Climate Change – even this industry could do better

We’re all on this planet together and everything we do effects everything that happens around us. With that in mind, one artist is calling for their colleagues in the classic music industry to reevaluate their choices as they continue in their careers.

At first glance, there would seem to be no connection. Classic music and climate change? How? But the industry is supported by massive amounts of travel by performers to play live in locations far from their homes, many times a year.

Changes can be made by simply planning tour schedules so that more sustainable travel options can be utilized such as taking the train over a plane. There can be more of a push for concert halls to be carbon neutral and to do away with plastic bottles and the like. Which is really just a reminder for all of us to look around our own industries and see what we can change.
