ClayValet – personal online shopping service delivered by…gasp… real people

Clayvalet

ClayValet is a bit of an anomaly in this digital mechanised age. A real human shopping service. You register and post your request, they find a human to search for the product you want. They send you an email with the suggestion, complete with relevant reviews and alternative pricing. It’s got a nice feel to it, especially for gift buying, but we’re wondering where they’ll go with this as it scales? How do they make money for instance? Ah well, worth a look anyway.

It’s OK to be vague We’re happy to make a suggestion. Ask about “an mp3 player”, and we might recommend the new iPod nano because it’s well-designed and people love it. Tell us more to get better advice Good: “A digital camera for my son” Better: “A digital camera under $300 with 3x zoom” Examples help: “A camera like Canon SD450, but with 6-7 megapixels” Remember, we’re people A real person will read your question, so feel free to explain what you’re trying to find. It’s just like writing an email.
