Climate Change Bad for Children’s Health – lack of food and bacteria to be major issues

Climate change isn’t just bad for the environment, it’s bad for our health and it will be particularly hard for children in the future. The changing temperatures will have a ripple effect that will impact children in more ways than just heat related illness.

Children are one of the most vulnerable populations on the planet and the issues that they suffer through during childhood can follow them for their entire lives. With the rising heat, lack of food will be a large issue for growing children but that’s not all. The heat makes a perfect incubator for different bacteria that hit children far harder than adults.

These issues aren’t just problems for poorer countries. Everyone will be impacted by these changes, although people with less will likely be impacted by them more. The heat won’t be great, of course, but it’s not the only thing we need to worry about and how to protect children and other vulnerable populations should be high on the priority list.
