There’s normally a room or corner in your living space that you label as “yours”. It’s nice to have a space to yourself. It is in this place which you can think about your deepest thoughts, and shut out the world around you, even though you can still see it. If you like this idea of confined space within space, then you’ll like what the folks at Micasa Lab in Zurich have thought up.

The Cocoon 1 is more than just a piece of furniture, it’s a living space. This clear ball can be a place to relax, or a kitchen, media center, and a bed all rolled into one sphere. You can set in on the stand in your house, outside, or hang it from a net up in a tree. This isn’t available just yet, but looks like it will cost around $2,990 when it hits in the fall of 2013. There will be storage units and compartments that will make it cost more, but I doubt many people will be jumping on a see-though adult-sized playhouse in the first place.
