Codybot – learn to code with this tiny robot

Codeybot alone

It’s pretty common knowledge these days that learning a coding language at an early age is a good idea. Even if your kid doesn’t go into the field, it will give them a better understanding of technology and how things work on the back end. Not everyone learns the same though and Codeybot is the little robot that wants to help you learn to code in a more hands-on way.

Whenever you’re learning to code, you’re doing something. You’re making the system respond in some way but these changes aren’t always really spectacular. Codeybot encourages you to think of new ways to make it function. You can change the LED display, make it travel along a route you pick, or dance to Thriller. Whatever you want (within reason) Codeybot is ready to do.

Codybot in use

It uses mBlockly which is based on the Blockly coding library so you can snap together strings to create your unique activities. The downside to this fun project is that it’s iPad only. It is currently being funded through Kickstarter but if interested Codybots start at $129.
